Working hours: 37.5 hours per week
The post-holder will be part of the Patient Pathway and Validation Team supporting the validation and correction of data quality issues on the Trusts’ waiting lists, as well as ensuring a safe and smooth pathway for patients by monitoring performance against the national waiting time targets.
The successful applicant will be highly motivated and enthusiastic with previous experience of working in an administrative role. Knowledge of waiting time targets and validation processes would be advantageous.
The successful applicant must be able to work using their own initiative but also as part of a team. They must have excellent verbal and written skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with staff of all levels. Organisational skills and a keen eye for accuracy and detail are essential for this role.
Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
1. To understand 18-week referral to treatment (RTT) rules and other related service targets and use them to manage all elective pathways.
2. To validate waiting lists and track patients progress, using the EPR+ system to agreed 18-week national rules and Access Policy.
3. To ensure that the progress of the patient through the pathway is proactively managed from the point of referral to discharge.
4. To ensure any concerns relating to treatment schedules and potential breaches are communicated to the relevant staff in order to be resolved.
5. To ensure that accuracy of data on EPR+ is maintained and follow up any issues arising from user or system errors.
6. To identify and resolve identified data quality issues on the EPR+ system using agreed correction methods and complex fixes.
7. To ensure validation and pathway tracking SOPs are developed, updated and followed.
8. To take responsibility for the validating of outpatient clinic outcomes and ensure correct clock stops are entered for outpatients and inpatient pathways.
9. Ensure that all Trust, Directorate and Departmental policies / procedures are adhered to.
10. Any other duties, commensurate with grade, as deemed necessary.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and to Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The Trust works collaboratively within the wider Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership. Its services are provided from three locations:
- The Countess of Chester Hospital: providing 438 general and acute beds
- Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 56 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility
- Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services which serve the local rural population.
The Trust employs over 6258 staff (headcount) which includes temporary bank staff and provides acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services and obstetric services to a population of approximately 407,000. This includes 357,000 residents in Chester and West Cheshire which includes Ellesmere Port and Neston as well as the Deeside area of Flintshire which has a population of approximately 50,000.
The Trust is a busy district general hospital and in 2022/2023, there were more than 503,342 patient attendances (inpatient, outpatient and diagnostic) ranging from a simple outpatient appointment to major cancer surgery. This is an increase of nearly 10,000 compared to the previous year when there were 494,387 patient attendances.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £23 (standard) or £43 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first three months of employment.
