Job overview

The GP Out of Hours team is a fast paced, high pressured service that provides primary care to the whole of Eastern Cheshire. We are looking for a well-rounded, confident and patient focused individual to join our team.

The post holder will be flexible and have the ability to work as a team whilst also exercising their own initiative. Full training will be provided.

Hours per week: 10 hours per week, every Sunday night 22:00-08:00
Locations: Macclesfield District General Hospital

Main duties of the job

The post holder will have an excellent telephone manner and have the ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and care. We are looking for someone with good attention to detail who is able to accurately input patient data into NHS IT systems. Previous administration experience is essential with NHS experience being preferred.

Candidate must hold a full UK driving licence. 

The post holder will have the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Doctors, Call Handlers, Nurses, 111 and NWAS.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated at GCSE level Maths/English at minimum grade C
  • NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) level 3
  • Computer literate to EDCL (European Computer Driving License) standard or equivalent

Experience

  • Reception/admin experience

  • Sound knowledge and awareness of confidentiality and data protection.
