Job overview
Applications are invited from a highly motivated and dynamic Doctor to apply for a vacancy within our General Medicine Department with a specialist interest in any area within the Trust, for which clinics would be included within the job plan.
The Trust provides a comprehensive range of acute and community based services, including an emergency department, acute medicine and emergency surgery; elective surgery in many specialties; maternity services and cancer services. Our community health services include; district nursing, intermediate care, occupational and physiotherapy, community dental services, speech and language therapy and palliative care. We also provide a number of hospital services in partnership with other local trusts and private providers, including pathology, urology and renal dialysis services.
Hours per week: 10 PAs
Main duties of the job
There is a team of 1 Specialist Physician supported by 1 middle grade (vacant), 1 IMT/FY2 and 1 FY1 who work in ward 7, which comprises of 28 beds in total, but is shared with Cardiology.
The team on Ward 7 strive to provide high-quality service in a safe environment where the needs of each patient are cared for in a professional and holistic manner by using all available specialist knowledge and skills. The wellbeing of all our patients relies on appropriate and timely assessment, investigation, treatment, and care. The aim is to promote optimum health through communication, teaching, and provision of adequate information.
The successful candidate will participate in out of hours on call alongside ST3+ training doctors. Within the working week, 2 specialist clinics will be identified as part the job plan.
