Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the paediatric diabetes team as an administration assistant. We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised candidate to work 15 hours a week undertaking administrative duties.

The role is varied, and you will need to have the ability to work a part of a team and use your initiative in day-to-day tasks along with good communication skills to deal with telephone enquiries.

You will be responsible for managing databases and patient information to meet the needs of the paediatric best practice tariff.

The successful candidate must have a friendly disposition as one of the duties will be meeting patients in clinic and downloading their insulin pumps (full training will be given).

Hours per week: 15.00

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as a part of the paediatric diabetes team, ensuring the provision of a comprehensive secretarial service to the paediatric diabetes multi-disciplinary team. Support will be required in the diabetes clinic, downloading information from patient devices, and uploading clinic information and advice onto electronic records. The post holder will also be responsible for data entry for annual and national audits, supporting the team to provide evidence to meet the needs of the diabetes best practice tariff.

Although the 15 hours can be split to suit the post holder, it is important the successful candidate is available on a Wednesday afternoon to attend the diabetes clinic.
