Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced physiotherapists to join our friendly Acute Therapy Team in East Cheshire. The successful applicant will also be able to demonstrate skills and experience in respiratory care.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic physiotherapist with proven experience in the assessment and treatment of patients within the acute wards settings.

About the service:

We are an exciting team, offering assessment and treatment to patients on the medical wards and on ITU.

We work holistically within a large multidisciplinary team of Physiotherapists, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Healthcare and Rehab Assistants and Social workers.

Travel is an essential part of this role, please demonstrate on your application form how you would meet this requirement.

Main duties of the job

To work in acute surgery.

As a clinical specialist provide a high standard comprehensive physiotherapy assessment and treatment service of patients with a wide range of conditions working as an autonomous clinician, using accurate analytical skills and clinical reasoning to interpret assessment findings, making diagnoses where appropriate, identifying patient problems, setting goals, and providing an appropriate treatment plan and progression.

Upon completion and maintenance of on call competencies, to work unsupervised in an on-call and out of hours emergency service.

  • HCPC registration
  • Relevant professional degree / diploma
  • Clinical educators training
  • Attendance at degree level post graduate courses relevant to the specialist area or working towards this or be prepared to study at this level

Knowledge

  • Post registration knowledge which is relevant to the specialist area and evidenced by CPD
  • Knowledge of recent NHS legislation, recommendations

  • Proven post registration experience, some of which is in a relevant setting / associated area

Specific Job Requirement

Essential criteria
  • Prior experience working in the NHS – with a broad range of NHS rotations as a Physiotherapist to include, Respiratory ITU, and Outpatients, Orthopaedics, Neurology
  • Proven ability to manage complex rehabilitation issues and ensure safe and timely discharge of patients
