Job overview
An opportunity has arisen to join our busy Radiology Department as a full time Cross-Sectional Imaging Assistant working within the CT and MRI Scanners.
The role will involve working in the CT and MRI scanners. You will be expected to work independently in preparing patients for their scans (checking safety questionnaires, inserting and removing cannulas).
You will also be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, assisting Radiographers and Radiologists in procedures and ensuring efficient workflow within the departments. Other duties include general housekeeping, including cleaning and restocking of the areas. Cannulation training will be provided as part of the role.
You will be expected to participate in a 7 day working week, including 12 hour shifts.
Hours per week: 37.5 (full time and part time hours considered)
Main duties of the job
To provide general assistance to the Radiologists, Radiographers and other staff within the Cross Sectional Imaging areas of the Radiology Department, ensuring safe and efficient patient flow through the department. Staff also have a clinical responsibility for the cannulation of patients requiring IV contrast and supporting all staff in the department in the clinical well-being of all patients scanned.
