Job overview
We are looking for full-time Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our Adult SLT team. We provide Speech and Language Therapy to adults with acquired disorders, across both Inpatient and Community settings.
Main duties of the job
The post is based at Warrington Hospital, partly on our Stroke Unit, and partly on general inpatient wards and /or in Community. The caseload consists of adults with communication and swallowing impairments arising from a range of conditions including stroke and progressive neurological conditions. We are looking for an experienced SLT with strong clinical skills, including a keen interest in aphasia and the ability to practice dysphagia independently. There will be an opportunity to participate in Videofluoroscopy Clinics and to develop skills with more complex dysphagia cases, eg on Intensive Care.
You will be able to demonstrate experience of working with a range of acquired disorders. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team and to provide support for less experienced colleagues.
You will be well supported by more senior members of the SLT team.
With post graduate experience of adult acquired swallowing disorders, you will have a recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree or equivalent qualification and Health Professions Council Licence to Practice.
We are a friendly team, offering ongoing support, regular team meetings, and clinical supervision as part of your CPD

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Provision of communication and dysphagia assessment and treatment to patients on the Stroke Unit and on other wards/in patients homes
Involvement in Stroke MDT Team.
