Trust registrar grade

Job overview

This post is for internal candidates to South Tees Trust. If you are not currently working within the trust your application will not be reviewed and automatically rejected at shortlisting stage. Please be aware of this when submitting your application.

This is a rotational post with 12-18 months based at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and 12 -18 months based at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust. This post is hosted by South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job

This pathway post offers a wide range of training and educational opportunities suitable for doctors planning a CESR application in Anaesthetics.  This includes a named educational supervisor, equitable access to departmental teaching and training opportunities with rotational trainees, access to trust study leave budget and guidance from an in-house anaesthetic consultant with a CESR in anaesthetics.

The final decision to grant the CESR equivalence rests with the GMC and the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCOA).

Working for our organisation

North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust and South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust have formally agreed to form a group to enable closer working across the two organisations. This exciting development has come about following years of joint working but is now well underway.

The group model means that the two organisations remain separate so they can represent their communities really effectively, but it has the flexibility to enable the trusts to work at scale to take strategic decisions which benefit the group as a whole and the patients we serve.  This is not a merger. Both trusts remain as separate organisations – keeping their own existing identities and names – but going forward, when they are working together, they can now collectively be known as University Hospitals Tees.

The two trusts are the area’s largest employers, with a budget of around £1.2billion and more than 15,000 staff who deliver acute, tertiary and community health and care services across the Tees Valley, North Yorkshire, County Durham and beyond.
