Job overview

The Macmillan Cancer Family History Service provides a comprehensive service for individuals concerned about their family history of cancer.

The service provides risk assessment, access to appropriate surveillance, information, support and possible genetic testing to families where necessary. The post holder will provide administration support to the service.

The post holder will be mentored and supported by the Cancer Family History Service team.  

 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide administrative support to the Cancer Family History Service, ensuring information is collated and communicated correctly within agreed timescales, in line with Trust Policy. The post holder will support both the clinical teams and patients through their journey within the service.

Day-to-day, the post-holder will be required to communicate effectively regarding patient information with medical staff, GPs, patients, relatives, members of the public and other disciplines within multiple trusts.

The post holder will be required to provide a high quality administrative support service including answering general queries from both patients and healthcare professionals, sending out of family history questionnaires and typing of clinical letters.
