Job overview
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are recruiting three Consultant Cellular Pathologists to join an existing team of 16 Consultant Cellular Pathologists across University Hospital Tees.
Whilst the duties of the appointment will be primarily at the hospital(s) stated, the Tees Valley Collaborative Service are creating a processing Hub at North Tees and it is envisaged that medical staff will be required to work from that base site whilst also having a commitment to attend other hospital sites in the employing body.
This post offers the successful candidate exposure to a wide range of interesting pathology in a supportive department. We have good working relationships with our colleagues in neighbouring Trusts and as part of the National Strategic Transformation Plan are actively pursuing closer regional collaboration. A digital imaging project board has been successful in securing bid money to developing a regional digital imaging solution for cellular pathology reporting.

Qualifications and training
Essential criteria
- Full and specialist registration (and a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC) (or be eligible for registration within six months of interview)
- Applicants that are UK trained, must ALSO be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
- Applicants that are non-UK trained, will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT
Clinical experience and effectiveness
Essential criteria
- Clinical experience equivalent to completion of a formal training program in Cellular Pathology
- Evidence of teaching/training junior medical staff and undergraduate students
Desirable criteria
- Declared interest in a sub-specialist area of pathology would be advantageous
Management and administrative experience
Essential criteria
- Ability to work productively within a multidisciplinary team
Personal attributes
Essential criteria
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients
- Flexibility to respond to changing service

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
