Job overview
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are recruiting three Consultant Cellular Pathologists to join an existing team of 16 Consultant Cellular Pathologists across University Hospital Tees.
Whilst the duties of the appointment will be primarily at the hospital(s) stated, the Tees Valley Collaborative Service are creating a processing Hub at North Tees and it is envisaged that medical staff will be required to work from that base site whilst also having a commitment to attend other hospital sites in the employing body.
This post offers the successful candidate exposure to a wide range of interesting pathology in a supportive department. We have good working relationships with our colleagues in neighbouring Trusts and as part of the National Strategic Transformation Plan are actively pursuing closer regional collaboration. A digital imaging project board has been successful in securing bid money to developing a regional digital imaging solution for cellular pathology reporting.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- • Full and specialist registration (and a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC) (or be eligible for registration within six months of interview)
- • Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath) or evidence of equivalent qualification
Clinical Experience
Essential criteria
- • Clinical experience equivalent to completion of a formal training program in Cellular Pathology
- • Relevant experience in any declared specialist interest pertinent to the post
- • Evidence of participation in clinical audit
- Evidence of Digital Pathology
Management and Leadership
Essential criteria
- • Ability to work productively within a multidisciplinary team

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
