Occupational Health Screening Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Occupational Health and Wellbeing Department at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for two qualified nurses to join the team as Occupational Health Screening Nurses.

The post holders would ideally have had a wide variety of nursing experience; with an enthusiasm for working within Occupational Health and delivering a high quality service that meets the needs of employees/clients.

 The role is varied, involving a range of occupational health screening services for the Trusts 11,0000 staff and the department’s external customers. The role involves working within an Occupational Health and Wellbeing multi-disciplinary team, providing a range of confidential services including venepuncture, vaccinations/immunisations, supporting staff following a needlestick injury, work health assessments and health surveillance. Clinics can be held across Trust sites or external customer bases as required by the service.

The post holders are required to have achieved NMC level 1 registration with post qualifying experience gained in the NHS.

There is a requirement for the successful candidates to travel independently across Trust sites and external customer bases.

Hours of work are usually within office hours, however there may be a requirement to work flexible on occasions to meet the needs of the service.

Leadership and Improvement Training

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills.  You will be expected to attend the leadership development programme, and the Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. This programme aims to:

 

·         Explore leadership within the NHS

·         Promote Trust Values and Behaviours

·         Develop your Leadership effectiveness and skills

·         Practitioner level in quality improvement, equipping you with the skills to champion, lead and complete quality improvement within your role

 

After you complete this four and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities,
