We are a 34 bedded Major Trauma and orthopaedic ward.  Looking for a hardworking, highly motivated, kind compassionate  member of staff. Who are committed to providing the highest quality of care and maintaining consistently high standards in a professional and friendly atmosphere. 

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work within the multidisciplinary team delivering high quality care to patients on the ward. 

You will be expected to act as a positive role model to junior staff and Students, demonstrating an active interest in the development of the department and working towards maintaining and improving the standards of care. We pride ourselves on delivering high standards of care and you will need to demonstrate how you will ensure this through your application and as part of the interview process.

Working for our organisation

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills.  You will be expected to attend the New and Aspiring leaders programme, and the Foundation Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. After you complete this one and a half day of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.

Education - NA

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register
  • • Nursing Associate foundation degree qualification
  • • GCSE Grade A-C in Maths & English or skills level 2 Maths & English or equivalent
  • • Completion of End Point Assessment for applicants who have undertaken the apprenticeship route
  • • When English is spoken as a second language, must have an IELTS score of 7.0
  • • Evidence of continuing professional development

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria
  • Ability to work on own initiative, to organise and prioritise own delegated workload, with evidence of good time management skills
  • • Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal and non-verbal communication) with patients/relatives and carers, the public, and all members of the multi-disciplinary team
