An exciting opportunity has arisen within Ward 21, Paediatric Medical Unit department based at The James Cook University Hospital to employ a Band 6 Sister/Charge nurse.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated children’s nurses to join our senior nursing team within Ward 21 at The James Cook University Hospital.

Main duties of the job

Working as part of a caring and passionate nursing team you will responsibly deliver planned, direct patient care to a high standard in accordance with the Trust’s established nursing procedures. Leading by example you will promote the safeguarding, well-being and interests of all patients and their families whilst taking personal responsibility for ensuring the needs of patients are achieved.

You will be a senior nurse within the unit and have a leadership role, supporting staff and nursing students as well as direct care for patients and their families. You will be expected to support the development of clinical practice and contribute towards quality issues within the department.

We are a team committed to delivering and maintaining high quality patient care and are looking to attract nurses who shares our goal. In return we will support on-going professional development and provide opportunities for the individual to develop their clinical and leadership skills.

Applicants must demonstrate effective communication skills, be enthusiastic, well-motivated and share a commitment to team working.

Registration with the NMC as a RSCN/Child Branch nurse is essential.
