We are undergoing a significant programme of radical transformation within community services, and we have a great opportunity for a clinical lead to provide leadership to the teams within your area of responsibility, working collaboratively with the Clinical Matron and General Manager in Friarage and Hambleton & Richmondshire Community Services Directorate.

You will provide assurance of safety, quality and the overall patient experience as well as ensuring the effective day to day management of nursing in your area to deliver key quality, performance, and financial plans, to achieve service and standards improvements.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

The post holder will hold 24 hour responsibility for the clinical area with support from the Clinical Matron and General Manager. They will ensure that they lead and clinically manage the area so that safe, high quality, evidence based nursing care is delivered to patients whilst respecting and involving families and carers as partners in care.

This post includes both operational and clinical responsibilities with the post holder spending a percentage of their working week (10% - 50%) providing visible and hands on clinical care to patients whilst working closely within the attached primary care network (PCN) to lead and provide coordinated care through integrated teams.

The post holder will have responsibility for leading and managing the community nursing workforce and will work in conjunction with the senior management team and the PCN to manage the budget for the area to ensure the best use of resources.

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills.  You will be expected to attend the leadership development programme, and the Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. This programme aims to:

  • Explore leadership within the NHS
  • Promote Trust Values and Behaviours
  • Develop your Leadership effectiveness and skills
  • Practitioner level in quality improvement, equipping you with the skills to champion, lead and complete quality improvement within your role

After you complete this four and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7

Qualifications & Training

  • Registered as fit to practice by Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • To hold a Degree/diploma in relevant field awarded by professional body along with specialist training to masters level
  • Evidence of Post Graduate clinical training/ development

  • To have completed the specialist practitioner qualification in District Nursing (BSc or PGDip)
  • To hold Leadership and management qualification
  • To hold or be working towards MSc or relevant post-graduation qualification
