Job overview

There is an exciting opportunity for a ward clerk /unit receptionist to work within the brand new St Austell Elective Surgical Hub.

We are looking for a bright and friendly person to join our team  Previous clerical experience in the health service would be desirable.

You should be a calm, organised and well-motivated person with a positive, mature and flexible approach to your work. The post involves contact with the patients and their families, so good communication skills are vital.

This role will include weekend and evening work, on a rotational basis.

Main duties of the job

Contribute to the effective running of the unit by concentrating on tasks which directly support administration systems and procedures. 

Provide a reception service on the ward welcoming patients, visitors and staff and directing them to the appropriate area.

Receiving and dealing with queries both internally and externally to the 
organisation. 

Ensure that the quality of data being managed and processed is of a high standard on the hospital systems.

Perform clerical duties in connection with admission, management and discharge of patients and, accurate data collection and entry.

  • NVQ in Administration Qualification in Customer Service
  • PAS competent
  • Unit 4 competent
