Main duties of the job

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our team as a Clinical Imaging Support Worker within Clinical Imaging at Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust, based at Royal Cornwall Hospital, with rotation to other sites as required. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the Cross Sectional Imaging team in delivering high standards of care for patients within CT scanning.

The ideal candidate will be able to work flexibly, which will include working long days and weekends. You will be given opportunities to develop the skills required for this interesting and varied role.

There is a service requirement to work at Royal Cornwall hospital, and provide cover at either Bodmin Community Centre or West Cornwall Hospital where required as part of a rolling roster.

Previous experience of working within Clinical Imaging is also desirable, although not essential.  NVQ level 3 is required for this role, although we would welcome candidates with or without this qualification to apply.

Band 2 - Band 3 depending on experience.

Essential criteria
  • Working towards an NVQ level 3 in Health Care
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ level 3 in Health Care

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience of working within a clinical imaging modality e.g. CT or MRI
  • Experience of assisting practitioners in imaging to provide patient care
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of a support worker role.

Practical skills

Essential criteria
  • Effective and adaptable communication skills
  • Knowledgeable of safety procedures related to clinical imaging and health e.g. COSHH, infection prevention, manual handling.
  • Able to complete pre-procedural checks in at least one modality.
  • UK drivers license and access to vehicle
Desirable criteria
  • Can perform specialist procedures (i.e. cannulation, venepuncture etc.)
