Job overview

Healthcare Assistant - Tintagel Ward

Ready for the recognition and rewards you deserve? Be Brilliant with RCHT. We are looking to increase our team of Healthcare Assistants in various departments within the Care Group of Acute & Emergency Medicine.

The Acute & Emergency Medicine Care Group covers Stroke, Eldercare, Acute Medicine and the Emergency Department.

A Healthcare Assistant is no ordinary job and it is not for an ordinary person.  We need caring, supportive people who love helping others and can come to work with a positive attitude and a friendly smile.  It that sounds like you, then we guarantee you will leave at the end of each shift feeling proud of the work you have done to support patients to feel and be at their best.

Main duties of the job

Working in the NHS is not all about making other people richer or doing meaningless, boring and unrewarding jobs – it’s real work with real people.  It takes flexibility, commitment and compassion, but in return we can offer you a rewarding career where you can really make a difference.  Urgent and Emergency Care is a busy fast paced environment where no two days are the same. It is a challenging place to work but also a hugely rewarding one.

With strong team working skills, you will be able to demonstrate the values that are important to us, communicating well with both colleagues and patients.  We are open to your ideas for how to improve the services we offer; without compromising on quality and always treating patients and team-mates with respect and dignity.

Working for our organisation

The Trust employs 5,000+ staff, has a budget of £380 million and 750 beds. We work with health and social care organisations -including NHS Kernow and NHS England- to ensure local healthcare needs are met. We provide acute medical, surgical and specialist services to around 500,000- which can increase significantly during busy holiday periods.

The Trust has teaching hospitals status as part of the University of Exeter Medical School. Keeping at the forefront of medical advances, we continually develop clinical services and are committed to maximising the range of specialist care offered locally.

We can offer you a rewarding career in a supportive working environment. We have extensive educational links to help you realise your full potential and develop skills to provide outstanding healthcare to the local community.

Enjoy an outstanding quality of life in a place that offers surfing beaches and fishing harbours to beautiful countryside and historic towns. With clean air, plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities and excellent schools, colleges and universities (including adult education) it is the ideal place for families and for you to develop your own career.
