Cancer Clinical Case Assessor

The post-holder will work as part of the Cancer Services team alongside relevant Clinical Leads to support case reviews which is required to support and facilitate in the (re)design and implementation of improved clinical and non-clinical services which are high quality, safe, effective, and financially sustainable.

The post holder will work on allocated case reviews for service improvement and project management work associated with the delivery of the Trust’s cancer programme to meet its key strategic objects.

We are looking for someone to work 15 hrs a weeks for a 3 month period

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

·  Use and be proficient in clinical systems to enable case review work to support improvement projects.

·  Use a standardised approach and framework to complete case reviews.

·  Using clinical knowledge and expertise identify opportunities for redesign and sustainable improvement through case review against local protocols.

·  Responsible for identifying and producing root cause analysis for cases where risk or harm has been identified through case review.

·  Manage complex service and pathway review through case review analysis and reporting.

·  Work with clinical, non-clinical teams including support services to ensure compliance with local and national clinical protocols and best practice.  

·  Use a structured and standardised approach to assign work and demonstrate an ability to meet deadlines.

·  To be aware of any impact of project changes to the governance and quality assurance of pathways and services.

·  Provide written reports and presentation on case review findings when required.

Qualifications

  • • Experience working in a NHS clinical role for a minimum of 2 years. • Use and be proficient in clinical systems to enable case review work to support improvement projects. • Experience in General surgery and Cancer/Oncology • Proven experience in organising and prioritising multiple tasks and workloads and meeting deadlines • Knowledge of Colorectal clinical protocols
  • • Degree level of education or the proven equivalent relevant experience and education. • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant discipline

  • Experience with clinical audit reporting.

Experience

  • • Knowledge of clinical systems • Expert use of MS Office and Microsoft Project • Demonstrable capability of delivering complex projects on time, to an agreed quality and budget • Excellent verbal, including strong presentation skills, written and interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively, • Ability to solve complex analytical problems; independently analyse information and make recommendations based on this analysis. • Excellent negotiating and diplomacy skills, coupled with the ability to remain objective when dealing with complex and sometimes
