Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our team as a Clerical Officer within Clinical Imaging at Royal Cornwall Hospital, providing an efficient Imaging booking service for the Trust. We are a forward-thinking service offering an excellent team environment and development opportunities.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role will be to assign appointments for all Clinical Imaging modalities and be the point of contact for patient cancellations, telephone enquiries and any other duties relating to the booking process, however other duties will include reception and general administration duties.  The role will include rotating through  our peripheral Hospital receptions and Pydar House in Truro.

Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills are essential. You will also need to be flexible with a willingness to work rostered evenings and weekends, have an appreciation of the confidential nature of the work and be able to manage a workload to meet pre-determined targets.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Minimum of two GCSE “O” level or equivalent level of general education to include English Language and Mathematics.
  • Grades A-C in English and Maths
Desirable criteria
  • Administrative qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Proven Administration or reception experience
  • Experience interacting with people
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in NHS Radiology department

Practical and Intellectual Skills

Essential criteria
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload.
  • Basic knowledge in using Information Technology for Data Entry
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of using PACS or CRIS IT systems

Disposition/Adjustment/Attitude

Essential criteria
  • Accurate written skills
  • Excellent communication.
