This post is being offered as a bank post via Kernowflex – ZERO HOURS
Working under national protocols administer vaccines to eligible members of the public.
Support and undertake the administrative functions required to run a successful vaccination clinic.
Support the clinic in delivery of other treatments and healthcare interventions as appropriate in line with competence.
Assist in the planning and implementation of the autumn and spring covid-19 booster programmes and any surge requirement.
Main duties of the job
The COVID-19 Vaccination Programme Vaccinator & Admin role will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering a safe and effective service for the mass delivery of COVID-19 vaccinations. The post holder will be responsible for administering and recording the vaccine to citizens within a team of staff working in a pod/clinic structure as part of the vaccination delivery model.
In particular the post holder will be responsible for:
- Configuration of their vaccination station
- Administration of the vaccine using the National Protocol
- Recording the administration of the vaccine.
- Supporting other administration roles within the clinic.
- Disposal of clinical waste and change of PPE as per national guidelines
- Adherence to infection control practices between individuals
The postholder will also assist the team in delivery if other healthcare interventions.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to NVQ 3 level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of qualification and short courses or significant clinical equivalent previous proven experience.
- GCSE English and Maths.
- First aid training.
Experience & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Commitment and willingness to undertake learning and development courses as required to ensure competency for role, this will include vaccine training, administration training, basic life support and NHS statutory and mandatory training.
- Understanding of Confidentiality and Data Protection Act.
- Experience of administering vaccines and providing immunisation advice.
- Experience of administrative role.
