Main duties of the job

The role is currently full time at 37.5 hours per week but please speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement. Alongside currently supporting many roles to be delivered part time we also support flexible working which is within a well-established framework. Our philosophy is that if it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you. 

 

Working for our organisation

The finance/procurement department has a friendly and supportive culture and are mainly home based but work from the offices 1-2 days per week As a new starter you will mostly be office based for the first three months as this seems to be the most effective way to provide support but this will be dependent on the role and your circumstances.

We have access to various equipment, such as hearing loops and facilities across the Trust so please contact one of the named colleagues listed below with your requirements 

We have a fantastic study policy and provide numerous opportunities for training and development for all staff. 

The role:

Candidates will have achieved AAT or be part qualified studying at AAT Level 3 and above, as well as having excellent interpersonal skills, be well organised and able to work as part of a team to meet deadlines.  You should have previously worked within a finance office and will be experienced in the use of Microsoft Excel and processing large volumes of spreadsheet data.

  • 5 GCSE's including Maths and English
  • NVQ Level 3/AAT Intermediate Level

Experience

  • Experience of working in Financial Administration
  • Knowledge of finance computer systems

  • Experience within the NHS
  • Supervising another staff member

Practical & Intellectual Skills

Essential criteria
  • Good communications skills. Well organised and able to work as a member of a team to meet deadlines
  • Competent and proficient in using Microsoft Office software packages. Analytical skills and numeracy
Desirable criteria
  • Communication of finance information to non-finance people
  • Basic knowledge of health service financial management, information analysis and the use of information across the NHS
