Specialist Musculoskeletal Occupational Therapist

We are looking for 2 enthusiastic, Specialist Occupational Therapists to join our Trauma and Elective Orthopaedic Teams at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust. 

These posts provide a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in two specialist inpatient areas, alternating annually. The posts include inpatient adult elective orthopaedics and acute inpatient trauma. The posts will be based on two sites. The Elective Orthopaedic role is based at the St. Michaels hospital site, in Hayle. The Trauma Orthopaedic role is based at the Treliske Hospital site, Truro. The caseload is mainly adult, but there will be some opportunities to work with paediatric clients.

 We are looking for 2 new team members who have an interest in musculoskeletal Occupational Therapy, and who are able to demonstrate strong leadership skills, within this setting.

To develop specialist skills under the guidance of Clinical Lead OT.

To provide specialist assessment, treatment, and goal setting for patients on your case load.  Some patients will have acute, complex and/or chronic presentations.

To provide clinical cross cover within your team as delegated by your Clinical Lead.

To attend clinical level discussions/meetings relating to your area of work as delegated by your Clinical Lead.

To contribute to the service through innovation and audit as required.

To provide formal and informal training to colleagues as required.
