We are looking for highly motivated individual to lead the team on the Acute Medical Unit at FGH
The role is to lead change, and the successful candidate will lead change in the AMU
The unit multi-disciplinary team are a group of dedicated, compassionate and professional individuals who are committed to the delivery of safe, high quality care.
We are seeking an individual with a demonstrable clinical competence within the speciality and further experience in management and leadership. You will have a passion for Acute medical care and be able to inspire and lead others to drive improvements in line with local, regional and national standards.
You will be expected to have 24 hour responsibility for the department with support from the Matron.

Main duties of the job
The role will involve:
Managing AMU and taking responsibility for the delivery and co–ordination of care delivery.
Ensuring an effective, efficient and quality service is delivered.
Developing a team culture of dynamic solution based thinking, working and behaving.
Understanding of Divisional objectives and assisting in the management of activity in line with key performance indicators.
In conjunction with Matron , support and manage Clinical leaders and all staff to achieve excellence in all aspects of care delivery throughout the perioperative patient journey.
Provide effective leadership and line management to all grades of staff, directing and monitoring activities against defined objectives.
Working for our organisation
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
