An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join the Breast Service at North Cumbria Integrated Care Trust. Working alongside our two existing Advanced Clinical Practitioners as part of our multi –disciplinary team, the successful candidate will be highly motivated and driven to improve patient care and experience and will have significant clinical experience.

The post is offered as 30 hours and is flexible across Monday to Friday but must include Thursday and Friday working. 

Main duties of the job

The Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) will autonomously, or with medical colleagues, demonstrate highly developed specialist knowledge and skills in the diagnosis and management of patients, implement and evaluate a seamless specialist service, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of clinical care. They will act as a lead specialist and will demonstrate a high level of expertise within the Breast service, providing specialist advice, education and support to health care professionals and patients. The post holder will work autonomously assessing individual patient needs, initiating investigations determining differential diagnosis and initiating appropriate holistic, evidence based treatment and care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the ongoing development of clinical practice, research and standards of care within the service, including development of policies, protocols and guidelines and contribute to service developments in collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues. They will ensure the safety and wellbeing of services users, and always work in a manner that promotes dignity and human rights through the adoption of person centred care principles.

The ACP will work autonomously assessing individual patient needs, initiating investigations determining differential diagnosis and initiating appropriate holistic, evidence based treatment and care, and participate in the education and development of other staff.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant post-registration experience within acute setting preferably within a leadership role.
  • Experience of working with general surgical patients.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working within a Breast department

Education, Training and Qualifications CPD Requirements
