Our HR/People Services Directorate has an exciting opportunity to work within the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) Services team, to be at the forefront of system development, engagement and data management.

The HR/People Services directorate provides advice and transactional services to employees and managers across the organisation. If you would like to work in a customer friendly, quality focused service; within a collaborative and supportive team, this may be the job for you!

Opportunities for home working are available with this role, in line with our great flexible working policy. Excellent benefits include generous pension, excellent holiday allowance and personal development.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic database administrator to lead, support and provide day to day supervision to a team of ESR administrators and who shares our Trust values of kindness, respect, collaboration and ambition.

This role will involve supporting a team of ESR Systems Assistants responsible for data input into the ESR System including new starters, leavers and terminations. You will also be responsible for acting as a point of escalation for the team, investigating queries and complaints, service development, reporting/analytics, systems administration, project management and much more.

This is a great opportunity to develop transferable skills, whilst supporting our front line services, and working collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation to provide an efficient and effective service. Our team is friendly, supportive and receives great feedback from our customers.

The role requires use of web based systems, including ESR (Electronic Staff Record) and Microsoft Office applications. Full training on our systems will be provided to the successful candidate.

Working for our organisation

At NCIC, we have an ambition to deliver outstanding hospital and health services to half a million people. Established on 1st October 2019, the Trust is creating a centre of excellence in providing rural and remote healthcare and provides a wide range of community and acute services throughout north Cumbria and beyond. We’re responsible for delivering over 70 services across 15 main locations and we employ more than 6,500 members of staff.

Our 5 key principles demonstrate our belief in the delivery of ‘safe, high quality care every time’.

  • Being a clinically led organisation
  • Quality and safety at the heart
  • A positive patient experience every time
  • A great place to work
  • Managing our money well

As an organisation we are serious about supporting a diverse workforce that reflects our local community and are very much focused on being an inclusive and compassionate place to work.

Across the North East and North Cumbria we are working together to deliver our ambition to be the greenest region in England by 2030. There is an expectation for all staff to support this by familiarising yourself with the Trust’s sustainability initiatives such as waste and recycling, going paperless, videoconferencing, sustainable transport and others.

We encourage you to think about what you can do as an individual and within your team to contribute in to embedding carbon reduction into the everyday running of our organisation.
