If you are passionate about making a positive difference to the quality of life of people with an acquired brain injury, then this post may be the opportunity for you. We are delighted to advertise a Bank post in the Acquired Brain Injury Team at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. The post is based at Bridge Mills in Kendal.
We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist who is committed and passionate about the delivery of psychological care within the Community. We welcome applications from HCPC registered Clinical Psychologists with skills and experience in Neuropsychology.
The post holder will provide a high level of expertise for specialist psychology assessment and neuropsychological assessment of adults with acquired brain injury. The post holder will be expected to provide a range of psychological assessment and cognitive rehabilitation. The post holder will lead a weekly inter-disciplinary meeting with the wider team. This work will also support the interdisciplinary team to inform an holistic, patient centred model of care.
New member of staff receive a warm welcome. Observation and shadowing are encouraged and you will have a dedicated clinical supervisor. As a member of the Acquired Brain Injury Team, you will be part of an experienced, and enthusiastic team.

The post holder will ensure the development of high quality, innovative, and evidence based neuropsychological rehabilitation practice within the Acquired Brain Injury service. The post holder will support the Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Service Manager in all aspects of managing the service; including being responsible for promoting and implementing agreed developments within the service.
The post holder will be required to provide a high level of expertise for specialist psychological assessment and neuropsychological assessment of adults with acquired brain injury, utilising and interpreting information from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi structured interviews with the patients, family members and other involved in the patients care.

- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (BPS accredited) or its equivalent to meet requirements to register as a practitioner with the HCPC.
- Registered Practitioner Psychologist with HCPC.
- Clinical supervision training for Doctoral trainees.
- Post graduate training in psychological therapy models.

- Post graduate training in Neuropsychology through an accredited route for QiCN (e.g. PG Dip)
- Post graduate training in evidence based psychological therapies.
Experience

- Experience of working with a wide variety of patient groups, across the life course and presenting with the full range of clinical severity across the full range of care settings including outpatient, community, in-patient and residential care settings including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse.
- Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients’ psychological and neuropsychological care and treatment, within the context of a multidisciplinary care plan.
- Experience of teaching, training and/or professional and clinical supervision.
