Job overview
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join the current Estates Maintenance Services team at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
You should be experienced, time served, and suitably qualified in electrical installation, maintenance, fault finding, and repairs.
Main duties of the job
Ideally, you will have experience of working within healthcare, or large commercial/public buildings, but this is not essential - as specific training will be given.
Working as part of a team, and individually, you will be required to carry out electrical maintenance and installation work within acute and community NHS properties. This will be on medium voltage main distribution systems, emergency power generation, lighting, door access, air conditioning, data, nurse call systems and other low voltage equipment.
The successful candidate must be able to self motivate, work relatively unsupervised, and be a good communicator on all levels. Flexible working will be required where you will assist other trades and undertake other tasks to maintain the building services.
The successful candidate will be required to join an on-call team to provide an out of hours emergency response - after an initial training period.
This post is based at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary in Lancaster.
Working for our organisation
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, and Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
