Band 6 Occupational Therapist - 30 hrs pw (12 month fixed Parental leave cover)

Are you interested in neurology, rehabilitation or working in the community? 

We have an opportunity for a 12 month fixed term post to cover parental leave within the West (Workington & Copeland) Early Supported Stroke Discharge Team. The post is for 30 hours pw, which can be worked flexibly across Monday to Friday.  The Early Supported Stroke Discharge service provides assessment and rehabilitation at home to patients on their discharge from hospital, following a recent stroke. The team works with patients with mild-moderate levels of disability. Our input is based around patient identified goals and is varied and rewarding.

This post could also be considered as a secondment.

Assessment, treatment planning and occupational therapy interventions for people who are discharged from hospital following a recent stroke.

Working in an MDT with physiotherapist and Rehabilitation Assistants and in partnership with Speech and Language Therapists, psychological services and third sector parties. 

The role involves driving around the catchment area of Workington and Copeland ICCs and some remote working from home (a laptop is provided). Our office base is currently Maryport Hospital, but may move to Workington Hospital later this year.

The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:

 

Standard Check: £18 + Administration cost of £3.85 = £21.85. Deducted at £6.85 from 1st month salary and £5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Enhanced Check: £38 + administration cost of £3.90 = £41.90. Deducted at £11.90 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

  • • Knowledge of clinical audit and outcome measures and their use in service improvement
