An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly motivated, enthusiastic and hardworking individuals to join the AHP IMSK Team as a Business and Admin Apprentice. The successful candidate will be based at West or East localities, across sites, within those areas.
Applicant should specify on application their preference for location.
Applicants must be willing to undertake NVQ level 2 in Business Administration.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will be expected to support AHP IMSK Clinical and admin team with a wide range of administrative duties. This role will be mainly be patient facing on a busy Reception desk and involving answering a busy telephone line.
Applicants will often be the first point of contact and a focal point for the service and will require clear communication skills.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding adults and children therefore if the post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended) the successful candidate(s) will be subject to a criminal records check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:
Standard Check: £18 + Administration cost of £3.85 = £21.85. Deducted at £6.85 from 1st month salary and £5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
Enhanced Check: £38 + administration cost of £3.90 = £41.90. Deducted at £11.90 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
- Willingness to work towards Level 3 Qualification.
Desirable criteria
- NVQ 2 in Business Administration or equivalent ECDL or equivalent
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office components.
Desirable criteria
- Basic experience of working in an office environment.
- Health or Social Care Work or volunteer experience
Skills & Aptitudes
Essential criteria
- Accurate data inputting.
- Ability to perform non routine activities such as answering queries, task related problem solving and progress chasing
- The ability to effectively liaise with patients in all forms of communication, e.g. face to face, and telephone
- Computer skills, systems, i.e. Microsoft suite.
- Planning / coordinating electronic diarised schedules and clinics.
- Understanding of issues related to confidentiality.
- General understanding of relevant legislation e.g. Data Protection, Health and Safety.
