Band 3 Training Professional Development Assistant

An exciting opportunity as arisen for a forward thinking individual to become part of the Professional Development Team within the Quality, Safety and Patient Experience Directorate. The successful applicant will have excellent administration and ICT skills and ideally have experience working within the learning & Development arena. The post holder will be required to produce training induction programmes and training evaluation reports and be able to work autonomously or as part of a team.
Main duties of the job
To contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of high-quality effective training to staff within WAST’s NHS 111 Wales service.
To provide administrative duties for the Education, Professional and Clinical Practice Team, developing and maintaining an accurate record management system.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Knowledge, Training and Experience
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of Administrative Procedures to Diploma Level or equivalent professionally related qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration); or equivalent demonstrable experience within a Business Admin/Project Support role.
- Previous experience of planning and co-ordinating planned work streams.
Desirable criteria
- Experience providing administrative support to a Training Team.
- Experience of developing induction/training programmes.
Aptitudes and Abilities
Essential criteria
- Ability to plan own workload and prioritise competing demands for attention.
- Able to work with minimal supervision, recognising when to escalate to a senior member of staff.
- Demonstrates proficient IT skills including the use of MS Packages.
- Maintain electronic records and databases.
- Ability to produce reports.
- Standard Keyboard Skills.
- Be able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable criteria
- Ability to speak Welsh.
- Ability to use financial systems (e.g. Oracle).

The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable people and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
