Job overview

Waste Porters work as part of the Facilities Team to provide and maintain the highest standard of Waste Delivery to the Trust ensuring a safe and comfortable environment is maintained.

To work as a member of the Waste Team to carry out a comprehensive range of waste and resources tasks, staff must be flexible, adaptable, and work to support the movement of all waste types. 

Main duties of the job

Ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the waste compound and associated areas is always maintained.

Ensure waste compounds are organised.

Daily monitoring of activity across site and reports any non-compliance. Good IT skills are required to produce and circulate audit reports. 

Collect and process specific waste and resources that have been-segregated for waste disposal, recycling, or reuse.

Ensure all waste and recourse streams are segregated, transported, and disposed of in accordance with legislation / policy and in a timely manner.

 Ensure all waste carts are stored safely and always locked ready for collection.

Ensure all waste carts are washed when delivered to site and ready for distribution.

Work co-operatively with colleagues as part of the team.
