Job overview
Applications are invited for a suitably experienced, compassionate and dedicated breast surgeon to join our team in a less than full time role (6 programmed activities).
The successful candidate will have a special interest in breast and ideally in oncoplastic surgery. You will provide outpatient clinics (results and new patients) and elective surgery (see proposed timetable for details).
The ability to work as an effective team member is paramount as our unit works in a collaborative manner to best meet the needs of our patients.
There will be opportunities for continuing development with joint operating lists, participation in oncoplastic MDT meetings and contribution to our in-house gene testing. There is no on call commitment.

- Full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise and entry on GMC specialist Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview.
- FRCS or equivalent.

- Broad experience in management of benign and malignant breast disorders
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
- Ability to make decisions at consultant level
- Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on range of problems both emergency and elective within speciality.
- Ability to apply research outcomes to clinical and surgical problems.
- Participation in clinical audit.
- Evidence of research activities.

- Ability to perform oncoplastic breast surgery including reconstructive techniques and therapeutic mammoplasties.
