Job overview

We are pleased to be able to offer a Trainee/Qualified Nurse Practitioner role within our Neonatal Department.   As a member of the team you will provide skilled and experienced intervention and would be integral in our ambition to develop and embed this role at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The trainee/ Qualified Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner will work within the Multidisciplinary team (MDT) to provide clinical care and management for babies and their families within the Neonatal ward setting.

You will support the MDT with delivery of care on Trinity (Post-natal ward) and The Birth Centre / theatres at delivery.

You will be an experienced clinician and provide continuity to support the Neonatal Consultant team in delivering the care aspired to by the unit.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NMC registration appropriate to role
  • 2:2 or above Bachelor’s degree in related discipline/ equivalent accepted by university for course
  • Neonatal Life support qualification.
  • Place on ANNP course
Desirable criteria
  • Non Medical Prescribing
  • Leadership qualification / course

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience clinically at a senior level on a neonatal unit.
  • Evidence of taking charge of Neonatal Unit and managing all aspects of unit coordination
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working within a Multi-Disciplinary Team at a senior level

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of continual development in neonatal studies
  • Awareness of Confidentiality issues with neonates and families
  • Excellent judgement skills in managing complex situations
  • Able to work as part of a team effectively

Personal

Essential criteria
  • Good communication & Organisational skills
  • Self motivation
