We are actively recruiting Bank Cook's into the following localities:
Whitworth Hospital - Matlock
To be responsible for the provision of a patient meal service by undertaking specific outlined and approved processes and procedures to ensure the quality and temperature of meals at service are safe and appropriate and within the guidelines of food hygiene legislation. To maintain required hygiene standards and safe systems of work. To provide assistance and information as required around the patient meals and menus and to provide a point of contact between the catering provision and the wards to identify any issues or specific dietary requirements. Be able to cover all hospital sites.
Main duties of the job
- To work as part of the IFM Catering Teams for the provision of a patient and staff meal producing freshly cooked food in one of our production kitchens.
- Applicants will have previous experience of working in a busy kitchen, must be motivated and committed to providing a high quality service and be able to work as part of a team or on their own initiative.
- Knowledge of special and modified diets IDDSI and/or experience of working in a healthcare setting would be an advantage. .Understand statutory requirements on food hygiene, allergens, storage and temperature control and an excellent knowledge of food hygiene and food preparation are essential.
- Successful candidates must be qualified to City & Guilds 7061/2 or NVQ Levels 1 & 2 and Level 2 Food Safety Certificate.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills are also required.

Strategy and Service Development Review and where possible identify areas of improvement opportunities to ensure a responsive and consistent quality patient meal service within policy and required legislation. |
Financial Resources/Management To work within the constraints of an identified and specific catering budget. Maintain cost effective stock control and catering ordering system. |
Information Resources/Information Systems To ensure all required information systems are accurately maintained within required time constraints. |
Autonomy/Scope within Role To instruct and routinely supervise lower grades of Catering Staff when required Works to the required food hygiene legislation in all aspects of service provision and works to the guidance and management of the locality lead. Works to trust policies and procedures.
