Registered Mental Health Nurse
Band 5
Job overview
We are building brand new healthcare facilities as part of our Making Room for Dignity programme and have exciting opportunities for Registered Nurses.
This is a chance to join our friendly team on Pleasley Ward as it prepares for a move to the purpose-built Bluebell Ward for older adults later this year. Our team supports those with a functional mental health illness. We work proactively with our patient group and their loved ones promoting independence and choice in their care
When it opens in September, Bluebell Ward will accommodate inpatients in 12 single, en-suite bedrooms to provide privacy and dignity to support recovery. Like the other facilities within the exciting Making Room for Dignity programme, Bluebell Ward has been designed in collaboration with staff, service users and carers to create the best possible environment for everyone, with quiet places and green spaces.
Unfortunately we are unable to accept those who are under the preceptorship programme at this time.
Main duties of the job
We have an established leadership team which consists of a Ward Manager, Clinical Leads, Lead Nurses and an Occupational Therapist. Bluebell will be a mixed sex environment with single en-suite rooms. This is where you will find a positive, supportive and friendly environment.
You will:
- Work as part of a team responsible for the delivery of Patient/Client Centred Care.
- Promote and support service user and carer involvement as autonomy and choices are an integral part of the philosophy of the Trust.
- Respond to the needs of people in an honest, non-judgemental and open manner which respects the rights of individuals and groups.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure that clinical services are delivered to the highest standard and in accordance with the most recent evidence based guidance.
- As a registered nurse, be personally accountable for your professional practice that will be delivered in accordance with the legal and professional responsibilities outlined by the NMC.
- Ensure that services are provided in a safe and supportive environment and at all times adopt a professional approach to your work promoting a positive image to services users/carers and the general public.
This post will start on Pleasley Ward and move to Bluebell Ward when it opens in September.
