Job overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the DSFS Linen/Post Team.  The small but dedicated, passionate and committed Linen Team are based within Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

The Linen Service provides the Trust's linen/curtain and uniform provision on a daily basis, the role will be responsible for cover for the linen and curtain provision and where necessary the Post Service.  The applicant will need to be computer literate or have the desire to learn as an element of the role has some administration tasks

The  successful candidates will be required to be physically fit as the role is physically demanding, and will include lifting, pushing, bending and walking including using a master mover.

The successful candidates will need to be adaptable and flexible to learn all internal process and procedures, documentation, receipting and distribution.  Full training will be given.

Main duties of the job

The linen assistant will be responsible for delivering  linen provisions to the Trust via cage movement and stock cupboards at ward level and in suites, taking receipt of  the delivery from an external supplier for linen and sterile, delivery of linen both general and sterile  and completion of all relative information  to all processes around the service.  Additional tasks may include stock control, data collection, ordering and emailing / speaking with  suppliers

Maintaining cleanliness of the Linen Distribution Centre

Changing of curtains throughout the Hospital when required. 

Help within the Post Service as and when required.
