NHS Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) is the health statutory body for the Derby City and Derbyshire population. Serving a total population of 1,053,000 with a budget of over £1.6 billion the ICB has a staff base of approximately 500 people.

At DDICB we are passionate about making diversity and inclusion part of our DNA. We have staff engagement forums, a diversity and inclusion network run by and for our people and aim for a workforce demography representative of the local community. Job overview

We are looking for a talented individual to join the Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board's Children and Young People's Physical Health and SEND Commissioning team.

The role is based in an outward-looking, dynamic and supportive team and is vital to the delivery of our commissioning intentions for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and the requirements of the NHS Long Term Plan. The prospective team member will work across the Derbyshire footprint with a range of stakeholders that include Social Care, Schools, health providers and VCSE organisations to help drive system wide developments that ensure children and young people with a range of complex needs are able to achieve their goals.

The role is being advertised on a permanent basis for 30 hours per week, although requests for job share and flexible working hours will be considered.

The person who joins us will bring to the role their commissioning, procurement and project management experience - or evidence of transferable skills. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate that their values align with the ICB's and are passionate about delivering good outcomes for people and populations. The successful candidate will have an appreciation and understanding of the needs of children and young people with SEND; can evidence collaborative working; and have a track record in delivery.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will support the Senior Commissioning Manager and Head of Department to ensure that their workstream of programmes are planned and managed effectively and take the lead in assisting in their successful delivery of :

  • Specific projects within the team's work programme – for example transformation projects; procurements; or service reviews
  • Specific pieces of work to review services and ensuring that we are commissioning for the needs of our population – including co-producing wherever possible
  • Ensuring that we achieve Value for Money and work effectively and efficiently across the wider partnership
  • Leading the development and management of key dashboards and information reporting for assurance and performance monitoring

Working for our organisation

At the NHS, we are reminded every day of how important life is. As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want to be sure that you can work in a way that is best for us, the children and young people we support, and for you.  Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement and if it works for the team, we will do our best to make it work for you.
