Job overview
An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Technician with an interest in Cancer Services.
The successful applicant will become part of a busy team working within both a satellite aseptic unit and a satellite dispensary offering a high quality service supplying Chemotherapy and other treatments to Royal Derby Hospital (RDH) and Burton Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The suitable applicant should be highly motivated and have excellent attention to detail. They should be organised and able to prioritise work effectively showing excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
This is a diverse role that will include dispensing and accuracy checking oral medication and outsourced IV products in our dispensary, including answering queries and delivering prescriptions.
You will also work in our aseptic unit, preparing and manufacturing cytotoxic aseptic items for our Chemotherapy prescriptions. You will be required to assist with regular cleaning and ongoing training and development. You will be involved with managing the unit on a rota basis.
We are a busy unit with growing demand, so this is a great opportunity to further develop your aseptic knowledge and skills within a Cancer setting.
You will also be involved in organising and implementing the training of new and existing staff and therefore great enthusiasm towards inspiring others is essential.

- Demonstrable experience of working in a hospital pharmacy, including aseptics

- Able to clearly and concisely communicate both verbally and electronically within the pharmacy team

Applicant requirements
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
