Job overview
The Derby/Burton Breast Unit is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Advanced Practice Mammographer to join the Breast Service hosted by University Hospitals of Derby and Burton. We are a progressive forward thinking department who has a positive approach at meeting and delivering the current challenges of the NHS.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and hard-working Radiographer to join our team. The main base for this role will be within Queens Hospital Burton and the Royal Derby Hospital – there are also multiple screening sites across Southern Derbyshire and South East Staffordshire. You will be expected to take part in screening and symptomatic work.
Applications from qualified mammographers who are not currently qualified in advanced practice will be considered. Training can be provided.
Salary will be at Band 6 level until qualified.
Main duties of the job
You would join a team of Breast Service staff and Radiographers to provide symptomatic clinics and a screening service as part of the NBSS (National Breast Screening Service) covering South East Staffordshire and Southern Derbyshire.
The Breast Service covers breast units at the Royal Derby Hospital and Queens Hospital Burton. Screening for the Breast Service covers Southern Derbyshire and South East Staffordshire.
You will be part of a small team of Advanced Practitioners within the Breast Service. Your Advanced Practice duties will include reading mammograms, performing mammographic biopsies, this will be alongside performing mammographic duties for both the screening and symptomatic breast service.
There will be an expectation of rotation between the Derby and Burton Breast Unit.
