Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Pharmacy Outsourcing Team within the University Hospitals of Derby & Burton (UHDB) Pharmacy High-Cost Drugs & Commissioning Team.
The successful candidate will need to have exceptional communication skills, to be conscientious, reliable, well organised, good numeracy and literacy skills and the individual should be able to prioritise their own workload effectively. Experience in homecare medicines services may be beneficial but is not essential.
Main duties of the job
The candidate will provide support to the Senior Outsourcing Team in managing and developing the pharmacy operational technical service related to Outsourced Medicines at UHDB. Some of the main duties of the role include:
- Setting up new services, switching of services in particular biosimilar drug switches.
- Dealing with incoming and outgoing correspondence from teams internal and external to the Trust.
- Supervising the daily, weekly and monthly reporting activity associated with the Outsourced Outpatient/Homecare Pharmacy Services.
- To plan, develop and organise new processes for the management of administrative work associated with the safe and accurate supply of medicines.
- Supports the wider Clinical Effectiveness and Finance teams to assist with reporting and invoice queries.

- Working towards NVQ 2 or equivalent in pharmacy services

- Basic accounting qualification

- Previous relevant hospital pharmacy or pharmacy homecare experience
