Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a 24 month, level 3 apprentice opportunity within Royal Primary Care. As a data apprentice you will work with various managers and teams within RPC to support projects, which may mean the occasional travel to other RPC sites. However your main base will be, Royal Primary Care, Stubbing Road, Grangewood.  As a Data apprentice you will have a keen eye for detail in collating, analysing and presenting data which will support projects with RPC to improve patient care, reduce health inequalities and improve population health. 

Main duties of the job

You must also have excellent data set skills and be a proficient user of Microsoft Excel.  You must be a great communicator, both verbal and written.  You must be able to prioritise your workload working to deadlines and under pressure,  work effectively on your own and as part of the wider RPC teams. Flexible and adaptable within change of work demands and able to take instructions.  You must have a desire to succeed and and have a proactive approach to learning and developing knowledge as well as excellent time management skills due to balancing work demands and apprenticeship criteria. Maintaining the strictest of confidentiality due to the nature of the environment.

To be familiar with the relevant Operational, Personnel, Health and Safety policies and procedures, including Fire, COSHH, No Smoking and Alcohol.

It is the responsibility of every employee to actively help the Trust prevent and control infection by washing their hands effectively, carrying out their duties in a way which minimises infection, attending appropriate training and maintaining up to date knowledge and skills in infection control and prevention as relevant to their post.

Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria
  • GCSE in English and Maths at Grade C/ Grade 4 and above
  • Functional skills level 2
  • Must have lived in the UK for the last 3 years and be 18+ and must not already be in full time education
Desirable criteria
  • European Computer Driving Licence - ECDL
  • Specific qualification in data

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of using Microsoft computer programmes; word, Excel etc.
Desirable criteria
  • Any work experience in an office environment would be advantageous.

Skills and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Clear understanding of confidentiality
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Ability to deal with a variety of tasks simultaneously
  • VDU / Keyboard skills
  • Understanding of office procedures
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to work with a range of databases/spreadsheets and bespoke software applications.
