We are looking for a self-motivated well organised person with good communication skills who likes to work as part of a team but also the ability to use their initiative and work on their own.

Would suit those with proven admin and customer service experience to provide a comprehensive administration and co-ordination to allow efficient and effective service to Community Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapist in the Paignton and Brixham Area. This will then allow the teams to promote faster recovery for patients, prevent unnecessary acute hospital admissions, support timely discharge and maximise independent living within the recommended time frame. 

The role may also entail providing administration support across community therapy services and other community teams dependent on where demand is.

This post provides a single point of contact for both professionals in Health and Social care and the public and requires a prompt response to initial enquires and referrals ensuring all information is gathered accurately.

  • ·       Responsible for being the first point of contact dealing with callers in person, on the telephone, email and post

    ·       Respond and be responsible for referrals and enquires from Health, Social Care and the general public for Community Therapy services.

    ·       Gather information to assess risks and needs. To maintain a waiting list and allocate cases as required depending on urgency once triaged by a lead.

    ·       Complete reviews and complete appropriate records, action outcomes

    ·       Provide comprehensive administration for the service, the team and the therapy leads.

    ·       Work in a busy environment and understanding the complexities and communication needs of those requiring community therpary input and support.

    ·       To undertake additional duties as required, commensurate with the level of the job.

The Paignton and Brixham community therapy teams sit within the Baywide Community Services covering the whole of Torbay; with a base at Kings Ash House, Paignton.

The teams have a wealth of specialist experience and excellent communication skills. We are motivated and passionate, providing a proactive service, being flexible and creative in meeting the needs of the community who require therapy support and input.

 We strongly believe in a 'What matters to me' approach and are patient centred.  We have a high profile and are well respected with our MDT colleagues.  We value new ideas that would enhance our OT and Trust service.
