NHS Medical & Dental: Senior Clinical Fellow
Job overview
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Paediatric Senior Clinical Fellow for a period of 12 months to work in a busy, exciting, supportive, acute paediatric environment. The post provides general paediatric cover on the Tier 2 rota (equivalent to ST3 and above) working on the paediatric inpatient wards, in outpatients and supporting our paediatric emergency department. We have a particular strategic need for those with interests in epilepsy, adolescent care, renal and paediatric emergency medicine. This does not preclude motivated and keen candidates from applying and we are also interested to hear from those with interests in developing other areas.
Main duties of the job
Previous fellows have primarily focussed on medical education and simulation, we welcome interest from those seeking developing skills in quality improvement, management, involvement in project work including IT system roll out or development of service improvement such as adolescent and transition services. or time for further postgraduate qualifications. We also offer a broad spectrum of Paediatric specialties which would allow a clinical outpatient focus and actively support trainees towards Royal College of Paediatric and Child Health (RCPCH) Specialist Interest (SPIN) modules.
Working for our organisation
Plymouth University Hospitals NHS Trust is linked with Plymouth University which has its own medical school on site. There will be ample opportunities to engage with undergraduate teaching or take on a postgraduate qualification.
