The Post Holder will be responsible for leading the operational Security teams, responsible for Security management, Security budget, operational Security and trust wide security assurance and strategy.
The Post Holder will provide operational management and support to all users of the Security services in an efficient, effective, and timely manner whilst leading, motivating and supporting the Security services as a whole. This role will also include Security assurance and strategy, provide reports, and subject expertise in relation to all attended meetings. Included within the scope of security services will be the responsibility and oversight of the ID and Swipe Access Entry across the Trust as well as Car Parking Permits for staff.
This role will also incorporate the Deputy Responsible Person for the Operations and safety of the Helipad. The Postholder will be deputise and have responsibility for the operation, production of documentation and ongoing safety reviews of the HHLS.
This role will also provide the operational delivery and management of the Car Parking, Grounds Maintenance and security staff to ensure a safe, effective, efficient service is delivered for UHPNT, its patients and associated Staff. The role also includes the line management of a facilities support officer who manages the Car Parking Permit applications process as well as providing Trust ID cards and managing the associated access to areas for staff.

The Security Operations Manager oversees security management within the Trust, ensuring the safety of staff, patients, and visitors. This includes ensuring compliance with statutory security obligations and advising senior managers on strategic, tactical, and operational security matters.
Key responsibilities include managing sensitive security information, investigating security incidents, and ensuring appropriate actions are taken. The manager leads the security team, ensuring effective service delivery, meeting performance standards, and striving for continuous improvement. They also maintain the Trust’s risk register, review restraint incidents, and ensure the security of assets and premises.
The role involves collaboration with external agencies such as the police and NHS counter fraud specialists, and managing security-related services, including car parking and grounds maintenance. The manager oversees ID card and access control systems, and manages the staff parking permit system in line with Trust policies.
The role requires strong leadership, budget management, and an understanding of security systems and policies.

Security
To ensure the management of the security staff to ensure the optimum safety of staff, patients, and visitors to site, adhering to all procedures and protocols.
Attend numerous operational, assurance and strategy security meetings.
Attend Fire Safety, Medical Gas, MDT, Project, and various other ad hoc meetings.
Manage and investigate security DATIX/Complaints and issues raised from PALS/Safeguarding teams, following the process, and taking the appropriate action required. These can be complex and sensitive issues that would require the upmost care when dealing with.
Manage Physical Security systems – Fences, lighting, locks, CCTV, access control systems, alarm monitoring.
Offer expertise in situations relating to terrorism, risk and crisis management and business operations.
Ensure workplace violence, theft and other security related incidents are investigated and reported thoroughly.
Monitor and audit all bodycam footages to ensure they fall in line with trust policy and procedures.
Ensure the Security Budget is managed efficiently.
To monitor and ensure that all Security training is up to date and documented.
To ensure that all security Health & Safety Risk Assessments are up to date.
Provide Security Assurance reports, attend all meetings relating to Security Assurance and present reports.
To Develop local solutions to security issues
To be one of the primary point of contacts for staff and the police.
Work closely with NHS local counter fraud specialists on incidents requiring joint working/or assurance.
Provide security advice and expertise to senior managers including directors and executive directors to ensure the trust meets its statutory obligations in respect to Security Management.
Completion of security rosters ensuring that the service is fully covered.
Log all security incidents using the Track Tik and Datix incident reporting system, pass on any relevant information to the rest of the team in the handover email addressed to the Security Department email address.
Keep police log numbers, security reports for police, contact police and security as and when required.
Be responsible for security of CCTV information and system checks should be performed daily at the start of your shift and any fault logs completed immediately as per the site instructions.
To create weekly reports using the TrackTik System.
Using the correct system, dispatch tasks to Security in a fair and timely manner.
ensuring that they have all the relevant and adequate information required to carry out the task.
To accurately record when all tasks are issued and completed by all Security and Police staff.
To report any problems or concerns relating to security staff activity
To record all complaints received accurately using the appropriate paperwork in accordance with the Departmental Policy
Monitor Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) for all Trust sites.
Report identified faults in security systems to Estates Department
Provide guidance and facilitate access to the CCTV system for the purpose of Police.
investigations in line with the Trust CCTV policy
Maintain CCTV logs in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998
To ensure that emergency procedures e.g., major incident, are carried out in accordance with the departmental policy using the approved paperwork as logged in the Emergency Preparedness file.
Provide Security Assurance reports, attend all meetings relating to Security Assurance and present reports.
To participate in the recruitment and selection of security staff as required
To take an active role in the Health & Safety committee, promoting a positive health & safety culture, ensuring that all H&S legislation and policies are adhered to.
To monitor and respond to all Security Datix

To support the Responsible person in the management of the Heliport and deputise for them as and when required.
To hold monthly meetings involving security staff, parking staff, and ED personnel to discuss safety concerns, incident reports, and improvement strategies from an operational perspective.
Parking
To ensure the delivery of a first class, patient, visitor, and staff focussed parking service.
To ensure that any investigations into financial irregularities are undertaken promptly in line with procedures.
To order and maintain new equipment as required.
To ensure the routine maintenance of pay and display machines as required.
To constantly review and modify the parking service in line with changing priorities and circumstances within the Site, ensuring the most effective provision of service possible, according to the individual circumstances prevalent at any time.
To participate in the recruitment and selection of Parking Services staff as required
To ensure that a process is in place that manages staff parking permit applications, appeals, and regular review to ensure that staff still meet the criteria to have one in line with policy.
To line manage a facilities officer who manages the staff car park permit process as well as the Trust ID Cards Production and Swipe Access Facilitation.
Grounds
Ensure processes are in place so that the Grounds Supervisor maintains service records for all vehicles and equipment used by the grounds staff.
Ensure records are kept for all staff who are permitted to drive UPHNT vehicles.
If required, driving all of the vehicles used by the UPHNT and related organisations within the legal limits of the licence groups held.
To ensure grounds staff are trained in all health & safety procedures related to their roles.
To ensure that any on-site contractors are monitored.
To participate in the recruitment and selection of Grounds staff as required.
