An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Receptionist/Ward Clerk to join our administrative team supporting the chemotherapy day unit and Turner ward at Torbay Hospital.
Working with colleagues in a friendly and supportive team where everyone has the opportunity to be the best they can be and contribute to high-quality service given to Cancer patients attending the Ricky Grant Day Unit and Turner Ward.
Working hours are 30 hrs per week, worked within an eight week rota to include some weekends and bank holidays.
The working day is from 08.00 to 18.00hrs .

Main duties of the job
The team provide all administrative support including clinic preparation of hospital notes, appointments, reception, ward clerk duties and telephone calls on a rotational basis, covering both Ricky Grant Day Unit and Turner Ward.
The successful applicant will be educated to GCSE level with a IT experience and will have proven experience of working in an administrative role.
Attention to detail is a vital for this role together with accurate keyboard skills, good customer care skills and a pleasant manner to patients and staff. Knowledge of hospital systems would be of benefit.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Good standard of General Education to include GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent
- IT Skills
- Ability to Multi-task and Prioritise workload
- Proven experience of providing a Customer Focused Service
- Administration role experience
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of Hospital IT systems
- Previous experience of Team working
- Healthcare setting experience
Applicant requirements
