Therapeutic Radiographer Band 7 Team Lead (Fixed Term for 8 months- 37.5 hrs)
Applications are invited from experienced radiographers to join our dynamic team here at Torbay Oncology Centre. You will be HCPC registered. This is a fixed term position to cover a career break.
You will have a professional and practical attitude, working with confidence increasing your experience with advanced techniques and technologies.
Torbay has a Support and Information Radiographer, Urology Specialist Radiographer, Gynae Specialist Radiographer and Research Radiographer in post. Radiographers have also undertaken Independent prescribing.
Hours of work may be flexible, and will reflect the needs of the department. The person appointed will be required to work shift patterns to cover extended working days, machine service days in addition to bank holidays
The department has two Elekta Versa HD matched linear accelerators, Pinnacle 3D planning system, and a dedicated wide bore CT for treatment planning with 4DCT.
Torbay provides cancer services to the people of South Devon, a population of approximately 340,000 which generates some 1200 new referrals per year.

Main duties of the job
Team leader for the efficient day to day management of the linear accelerator, deputising in the absence of the Treatment Section Manager as required.
Participate in QA, Audit, complaints and service development initiatives as appropriate.
Ensure the provision of a quality service which meets the needs of the individual patients and their carers attending the department.
Be responsible for initiating a response to an emergency radiation incident within the service as required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
· HCPC registration as a therapeutic radiographer (requires BSc (Hons) in Radiotherapy or equivalent accredited programme)
· MSc qualification in clinical subject or equivalent experience
· MSc qualification/training in management/leadership or equivalent experience
· Use analytical skills to plan the day to day activity levels for any new service implementations
· Use knowledge and skills to propose, develop and implement service developments across the service, especially within own specialist area
· Have demonstrable problem solving and decision-making ability

Essential criteria
- HCPC registration as a therapeutic radiographer(requires BSc(Hons)in Radiotherapy or equivalent accredited programme)
- MSc qualification in clinical subject or equivalent experience
- MSc qualification/training in management/leadership or equivale experiencent
Desirable criteria
- Teaching/lecturing at pre and post graduate level
- Involved inm successful implementation project e.g. new equipment or working practice
