We have an exciting opportunity for an operational buyer to join our procurement team within commercial services.
You will be an excellent communicator, acting as an ambassador for the department to ensure we provide an effective and efficient operational procurement service to stakeholders across all areas of UHD.
The successful candidate will be reporting to the lead operational buyer, undertaking product sourcing, catalogue management, evaluation of supplier quotations, processing of purchase requisitions and placement of purchase orders for the trust.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Attainment of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) certificate level or NVQ 2/3 qualifications
- Equivalent training and/or professional or transferable experience
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of additional procurement development or key skills training
Experience
Essential criteria
- Proven experience of working in an administration, supply chain or inventory control support capacity
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in an operational purchasing and supplies function.
- Experience of working within the NHS
Technical Skills/ Competencies
Essential criteria
- Good keyboard skills
- Intermediate ability of computer applications including MS Word, Excel, and MS outlook
- Accuracy and attention to detail especially with regard to data input
- Good time management and organisational skills
Desirable criteria
- Intermediate abilities with MS Access & MS PowerPoint.
- Good presentation skills
- SQL skills
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of procurement function and its responsibilities within a business

- Understanding of contract law & public procurement processes
