An exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated Band 2 Healthcare Assistant to work as part of the Outpatient nursing team, for a 1 year fixed term.
Outpatient’s is a diverse, multidisciplinary environment which requires flexible and adaptable skills, an aptitude to learn and a motivation to develop your own skills.
If you are a dynamic individual who enjoys a challenge and would like to join a team who are passionate about providing high quality care to their patients, then we want to hear from you.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, motivated and committed to give high quality nursing care and be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team. You will consistently ensure that a patient’s privacy, dignity and psychological well-being is maintained, and at all times, the care given is patient centred.
You need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. We require individuals who are forward thinking, well organised and with a positive attitude towards flexibility and change.
The successful candidate will be required to rotate through all the Outpatients areas, main DCH site, Weymouth Hospital and South Walks Outpatient Assessment centre to support during times of A/L and sickness. Recent Outpatient Experience would be an advantage but not essential.
The working pattern is flexible, in order to meet the needs of the service. In the future this may include evening and weekends.

- Evidence of secondary education to include an understanding of literacy and numeracy

- Level 2 healthcare certificate (or willing to complete) or equivalent relevant experience
Knowledge and Experience

- Recent experience of Outpatient setting, beneficial but not essential
- Experience of working in a team under appropriate supervision
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of principles of effective communication and care giving
- Understanding of basic hygiene skills
- Knowledge of when to seek advice and refer to a registered care professional
- Able to listen to advice from colleagues, agree a plan of action and implement
- Understanding of the importance of the promotion of health and well being
- Awareness of manual handling of patients, using lifting aids
