This is an exciting opportunity for a Occupational Therapist to work within the West Dorset Acute Occupational Therapy Team.  You will receive regular supervision, participate in a peer support network, have the opportunity for flexible working, receive ongoing learning and development and regular CPD opportunities.

The role involves providing assessment and intervention for people with a mental illness; supporting men and women in an acute phase of illness and assisting them in their recovery.  You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team and be an integral part of the delivery of patient care and service development.

You will be required to undertake a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course.  It is a condition of your employment that you successfully complete all aspects of this course; if this is not achieved you will not be able to commence working in the post.

The position offers an opportunity for a newly qualified Occupational Therapist or a current Band 5 Occupational Therapist ready for the next challenge or an emerging Band 6 Occupational Therapist possibly looking for a change. For the right candidate we could consider a developmental role from Band 5 to Band 6. The selection of the suitable candidate would  depend on their knowledge and experience and on outcome of interview
